One Week Old!

Dearest Clara Jane,

You have finally realized the world isnt as scary as you thought.  You have calmed down and are eating every two hours like clock work! God has truly blessed us with such a good baby.  Now if we can get you to sleep from 1-3 am our world would be a much better place.  You do best when you are clean and fed...so am I! :-)  My love for you grows every day and I am doing better at trying to figure out what you want.  I can almost figure it out.  If we can get this gas under control your world will be a better place.

On your week old birthday, your MiMi Jane came over and brought your mommy lunch.  We ate and I fed you again.  She got to spent some private moments with you and told you all about shopping and what she wanted to do with you as you grow up.  Then Jessica and Gina came over and held you.  Jessica is a teenager I mentored.  She was so inquisitive about your emergence into the world.  She was so nervous about holding you but you didn't seem to mind.

Today, you are 8 days old.  Your Godmother Liz came over with Riley and Riley got to hold you again.  He really likes holding you and you seem to like it too.

Mommy has become less paranoid about the world around us.  Maybe tomorrow we will try to get the car inspected.  Hopefully it will pass.
