Two Months Old

My Darling Clara Jane:

You are two months old! Yes. Two month. It's is so scary how quickly you are growing up. At 7 weeks, we celebrated 2013 together. Yes, you were awake.  We took our family picture together. It looked rather rough but it will be endearing when you get older and see it.

Today, We had your Two month well visit. It was so sweet to see how much Dr. Galla adores you.  You made the 90th percentile for height and the 80th for weight.  At one month you were 90th percentile for both height and weight.  You are eating and growing well.  Last night, you scared mommy and daddy when you were sleeping a lot. Your first rectal temperature came to 99.5 then 99.6. The nurse on call at your pediatrician's office told us to stay home because you are alright. When we went to the doctor, your temperature was totally normal.  Then they told us that a normal temperature rectally can be as high as 100.4 ... I wish they would have told us that sooner. You also had two shots and one oral vaccination. You weren't too happy but took a long nap afterward.  These vaccinations make you really sleepy. Right now, you are sleeping in your crib.

Looking back on your birth until now, you are growing up so quickly and already look so different. It's like you came out growing up too fast. But I love every moment of being your mother. At two months, you are meeting seven out of 10 criterion for the four month milestones. Yes, you are developmentally ahead for sure.

At this age, your daddy is disappointed because you prefer me to him. I think its because I have the milk. Yes, you are breastfed. But when you are fed and happy you play with him too.

Your smiles and cooing makes my mornings and evenings. I love you so much
Mommy

  1. Clara, you're going to love and appreciate this one day-- well maybe not the "rectal temperature" part.
