Clara,
While motherhood is amazing and blissful getting to know your individual personality is hard. I find myself correcting what I think you are doing instead of asking you what you are doing. But this letter for me runs a little deeper then just the challenges of your personality. You are super advanced.
At only 20 months, you are already:
-Singing your alphabet song (clearly)
-Counting to 15
-knowing some of your shapes
-knowing some of your colors
-Identifying people's facial emotions
-Speaking in sentences
-Know all of your animals and sounds
-identify letters and numbers (sometimes correctly, sometimes you can look at letters and words and show me that you know that they are letters and numbers)
-Jump in the water, kick, blow bubbles, swim independently with water wings
A challenge to having a child who is incredibly advanced is having friends with parents who's children are your age and moving at a different pace. As parents we have this deficit in terms of embracing the unique individual that God gave us, we constantly compare our kids. You are doing things that your friends who are two and a half or three years old are doing. You were born with a father who has a genius level intelligence quotient and was reading at three or four. I am telling you this not to gloat about your potential but to remind you that God designed you uniquely. He didn't make you to look like some of your friends; he didn't give you straight hair or fair skin, he gave you this beautiful tan caramel color and brown eyes. He gave you perfect curly hair. He gave you the capacity to do anything you put your mind to. You were born perfectly in his image as was every person here on this earth. You were born with a purpose. God gave you the capacity to be a Pulitzer prize winner, a doctor, or a diplomat. You could be a missionary or the CEO of a large company. Anything you want to do, you can do. Your mom gave you this incredible stubborn nature and this person ability.
I prayed that God bless you with huge purpose. Even from when you were in momma's tummy I could feel your energy inside of me. I could feel your incredible spirit and I pray that what ever you do in life is done to the glory of God.
Love Mommy.
